In this annual forum of International Alliance of Arts Management, the participants shared solutions and cooperation cases on the establishment of public theater governance, creative ecosystem reorganization, festival and audience development by strengthening cooperation among international arts management researchers while discussing establishment of an international indicator system related to cultural influence and cultural and artistic content, standardization of data, comparing studies between countries, and ways to link academic and policy. In particular, the Seoul Metropolitan Council awarded the Sangmyung University a commendation for its contribution to the development of culture and arts, and for hosting the third annual forum of International Alliance of Arts Management in Korea with the Seoul Metropolitan Council and the Yeoyeon Culture Foundation.

The Arts Management Asia Center, which is established at the Sangmyung University, will integrate arts management research and education exchanges in Asia with the aim of sustainable development of the Asian cultural industry and establishing global governance, and promote data-based policy design and industrial strategies by quantifying the achievements of the culture and arts content industry to establish a Korean-style cultural indicator system as an Asian arts management hub. “The Arts Management Asia Center will be a practical platform of arts management field for international cooperation research, co-production, and academic network construction so that Korea can play a central role in arts management, and will shape the Korean-style cultural indicator system based on the global cultural impact index,” said Lee Dong-soo, a professor at Sangmyung University who was elected as the first chairman of the Arts Management Asia Center.

The Sangmyung University President Kim Chong-hee attended the forum and said, “Sangmyung University has been striving to present a vision of future art management in which academics, industries, and communities are harmoniously connected, centering on the Department of Global Cultural Contents and the Department of Culture and Arts Management.  It is of great significance to establish the Arts Management Asia Center at Sangmyung University's Seoul Campus, which will pioneer new possibilities for Asian arts management. This Arts Management Asia Center plans to create a Korea as the center of Asian art management and Korean-style cultural indicator system with the aim of sustainable development of the Asian cultural industry and establishing global governance. In addition, in the future, this center is expected to serve as a base for international exchange related to art management and become an advantageous foothold for growing into the birthplace of international cultural cooperation.
